Embark’s Cash n’ Carnage FPS gets a fresh batch of new content in the new Season 7 update!
If you’ve spent any time playing The Finals, you’ll be aware of the madness that is going for cashouts in the arena, teams of 3 vying to be the richest team at the end of a match, hoping to reach the titular Finals in a tournament-style game mode. Since its release in December 2023, The Finals players have been treated to six seasons worth of content, full of new weapons, cosmetics, maps, and sponsors.
This season is sponsored by 2 warring factions, the hacker collective CNS and their archrivals, cyber-security firm Vaiiya. At the start of the season, players must choose a sponsor to fly the flag for, allowing players to unlock character cosmetics and weapon skins themed around their sponsor of choice.

This isn’t the only place we see our 2 sponsors appear this season, though. A new arena has been added, NOZOMI/CITADEL, a cyber city split in half by the mysterious “rift”, half of which is controlled by the neo-noir inspired CNS and the other controlled by the clean, minimalist Vaiiya. The map is a new theatre for destructible chaos and last-second cashout steals and it’s available in game right now in all playlists!

Of course, with a new season comes new toys to play with, with each class being given a new gadget to add to their arsenals:

Light – H+ Infuser
For the light class, we see a new healing item, the H+ Infuser, a high rate of fire machine pistol that heals teammates, it’s like Doc from Rainbow Six‘s stim pistol got the Borderlands treatment. This gadget heals a lot of health very quickly, but you can’t use it on yourself, much like the Medium class’ Healing Beam, but good luck finding a Light player who’s actually willing to support the team and heal you up, so why not be the change you want to see in the world and give this thing a try for yourself?
Medium – Breach Drill
Back to the Rainbow Six similarities here, and we see the Breach Drill. Stick this thing to a wall and it’ll flashbang everybody on the other side, before blowing the wall open for a coordinated team push. I can imagine this being devastating on smaller cashouts and in lower ranked lobbies, where the cashout tends get turned into a killbox.
Heavy – Healing Emitter
That’s right, all three classes can heal now. Drop it on the ground and your whole team, including yourself, can feel the healing benefits, and trust me, after getting hands-on with this thing, this is a game changer, the Healing Emitter heals quickly, gone are the days of being pocketed by a Medium à la Team Fortress 2. I think this is a meta defining gadget, allowing your team to stand and fight as a unit while being healed.
New Battle Pass
The most controversial change this season is the introduction of a new “Ultimate” Battle Pass, that can’t be purchased for the in game premium currency, Multibucks, and instead can only be bought with cold hard cash (shame our cashouts don’t help our bank accounts!). This new Ultimate Pass functions similarly to Call of Duty‘s “Blackcell” Pass, that grants unique versions of battle pass skins only for the holders of this top-tier pass. The Battle Passes of each tier grant the following rewards:
Free Pass | Premium Pass | Ultimate Pass
Cosmetic Items | 26 | 106 | 106 |
Exclusive “Elite” Items | 10
Multibucks | 375 | 1,575 | 2,575 |
The premium pass costs 1,150 Multibucks, equivalent to £7.99 ($9.99). There is also the Premium+ Pass that skips 20 levels of the pass to get you unlocking the higher tier content faster, this one costs 2,400 Multibucks, which is around £16.99 ($19.99), and finally, the Ultimate Pass comes in at £23.49 ($29.99). You can upgrade your pass at any time and get the difference in price refunded in Multibucks, so if you want those Elite rewards once you’ve finished all levels of the pass, simply upgrade it down the line!

Old Battle Pass?
As well as the new Season 7 Battle Pass, The Finals has taken a leaf out of Deep Rock Galactic‘s book and added all the old battle passes back to the game, purchasable for the standard price of 1,150 Multibucks, you can go back through the previous 6 seasons worth of passes and unlock those rewards too! The only thing these legacy passes are missing are the final “bonus” pages, which remain exclusive to the players who bought the passes at the time, as well as retroactively adding a bonus page to the Season 1 pass for us OG players, as this pass didn’t have a bonus page at the time.
More Fun, Less Grind
The final welcome change to the game is the adjustment to progression speed in Quick Play and World Tour, with players now even earning points in World Tour for a first-round elimination. Apparently this is estimated to speed up the grind by around 25% compared to how long it was in Season 6, so it’ll be easier to get your Emerald weapons this season!
Speaking of Emerald, this season’s featured weapons are the Dual Desert Eagles for the Heavy, the Riot Shield for Medium and the SH1900 for Light, as well as the usual sticker for reaching Emerald 4 and some Multibucks for all ranks before Emerald.

So go and get stuck into Season 7 of The Finals, honestly I firmly believe this is the best FPS game on the market right now in terms of fun and innovation to the genre, so there’s no better time than a new season to check the game out for yourself!
