About Me

Ethan J. Strowger

Hi! I’m Ethan, I’m 24 years old and I’m from Leicester. After working for years in IT Jobs, I decided it was time to try and launch myself into my dream career, writing. Writing has been a passion of mine for years now, when I was between jobs, I tried my hand at being a music blogger for a year, before moving to my current job in sales analysis, however, I am being made redundant due to the business closing down and thought now was my chance to take a leap of faith and try to make something of my dream of being a writer and having an outlet to share my passion for all things gaming, music and sports with likeminded people.

“I just hope a website or publication comes along and decides to take a chance on me!”

My Journey Into Journalism

After starting my music blog “Metal Exile” in 2018, I spent that year having the time of my life, writing about music, listening to music, speaking to some incredibly talented people in interviews about upcoming releases, I loved it, but the reality of having to pay rent hit hard, and I had to give it up and get back into work. Sadly, this is when the pandemic hit, and I was forced to stay inside. I made the decision to scrap Metal Exile and move on to pastures new, I began writing some non fiction books based on military history, projects that I still have ongoing until this day.

After the pandemic, I started my current job as a sales analyst, and in my spare time, continued working on my books, even having the opportunity to meet and consult with Jonathan Ferguson of the Royal Armouries Museum on one of my projects. Writing has always been my passion, I’ve just never had a real outlet to turn it into a job. Unfortunately the company I am working for is closing down this year, and I’ve decided that this is it, one final chance to try and make something of myself as a writer and put myself out there.

I am a hard worker, a keen learner and somebody who loves to put smiles on faces. I hope this time around I can make something of myself and learn how to turn my passion into a profession, learning from amazing writers, working as a team to make sure articles are published in a timely manner and ultimately have people read my work and gain something from it, whether that be knowledge, a laugh, or hopefully a mix of the two!

I hope this is only the start of my Journalism story, and not where the story ends. I will continue to post articles here on my website until hopefully one day, they find a new home on some other website or publication.
